Barnard, New School, and Columbia Slammed Over Antisemitism Response by ADL

Education & Equity Unrated

Barnard College, the New School, and Columbia University have received poor ratings from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for their failure to adequately address antisemitism on campus. According to the ADL’s 2025 report card, the New School received a failing grade due to repeated anti-Israel demonstrations, including faculty-led encampments and controversial protest imagery. Barnard’s grade dropped following violent protests and administrative inaction, while Columbia faced criticism for ongoing antisemitic incidents and weak enforcement of conduct policies. The ADL emphasized the urgent need for stronger institutional responses to protect Jewish students and combat hate on campus.
